Governmental Fools
Governmental Fools By Franklin Price 1/20/2018 The President, House and Senate Mostly made of stupid fools The parties they belong to, Not each person, makes the rules. Few of them are willing To reach across the aisle Only flip a single finger As they disagree and smile No middle ground for which to strive Must follow party rules Or won't get re-elected By party oriented fools If they want to stay in office And get funded for their run The billionaires that give to them Aren't contributing for fun They must kiss another's ass To be elected once again Not getting rich, by holding office, Would be an inner beltway sin To hell with “We the People” From week to week we live Barely make enough to be on line With nothing left to give We the people took it in our hands Elected a President of hope After all this is the life we lead Not a scripted daytime soap He's not a politician He's just a billionaire Doesn't need the Party's money To politicians that's not fair We threw him in this dismal swamp This non-beholden guy, Not preferred by either Party, His non-beholdenness is why Neither works with this new President, For, if his plans work in the least, We the People may just can the lot For we awoke the sleeping beast To hell with what the people want Let Illegals have their way Don't build a wall so more may come Let sanctuary cities stay The economy is better Unemployment numbers down Stock market's at its highest ISIS run right out of town Who knows what else could happen If congress reached across the aisle With a full and honest handshake Not a finger flip and smile
