Making New Friends
About two weeks ago, Grief and Sadness knocked on my door, and I said to them, "Go away, you are not welcome here". I'm trying hard to be strong. So when Hurt and Pain called me last week, I simply refused to answer the phone. I ran across two other 'so-called' friends at the mall a couple of days ago. After a couple of minutes with 'Poor Me and Self Pity', I started to cry and had to say goodbye. Disappointment and Frustration showed up in an email early this morning. I didn't have a lot of time, and after reading the first line where they were claiming to be old friends, it didn't take long for me to send them to 'the trash bin' where they belong. Whether friend or foe, I'm learning to say 'No' to anyone or anything hindering or not helping me to grow. 01092018 PS, Contest 385, Brian Strand;2nd Contest, 2019 Mile 20, Mark Tony Personification poem inspired by the 'overcoming life' of a friend
