Angel At the Kettle
One more Christmas has passed, The memories of good tidings and hearing Merry Christmas Took on a whole new meaning this year. The business of running around, catching up on the holiday Errands of what needed to get done to make my holiday complete Can in no way compete with the fresh meaning of Christmas that Has found me again. See, when I had walked up to the entrance of a certain convenience store I met a sweet man standing at a red kettle, ringing a bell. He was so full of Heaven's glow that I wanted to share some lovely memories Of friendship. I entered the store and bought the items needed. I also bought the nice man some candy bars, and I made sure that At the register to take some cash out of my card. I then went back outside and put the cash in the kettle and gave this dear Man a big hug and the candy bars for his day. Yet you see it was he that made my day by his big bear hug and best Wishes for the holiday. Later I see this same man over at the grocery store. I put some more coins in. This man said, "I see you everywhere!" as I received another bear hug. Then right before Christmas on Christmas eve I went back to the store For last minute items, pulled out more coins to drop into the kettle. Yet when I made it to the store's entrance the ringing of the bell had stopped. My angel was nowhere to be found. The best gift this year were not the presents, But the love of God... the refreshment of my soul to last throughout time.
