Society doesn't even suspect I'm here laying in wait. All those little noises you hear and dismiss as the house settling, That's me, every time you think you misplaced something, That's me, those unexplainable cuts that appear on you, That's me, just getting a little taste, trying you out, seeing if your worth my time. Darkness seeps from the crack in my heart, settling on this land, giving me a place to lay back during the day, to rest up for the night my time, not your time, and even though you ain't worth my ability I'll savagely rip the flesh from your body, running my claws down the tender skin on your neck, you won't even know I'm there til it's too late, for I cast no shadow, I have become living dark, the creation of nightmares, spawn of shade and the moon, never again to be seen, unless I wish to. So here I sit within the smokey cloth of night, peering through the folds waiting, always waiting,.... and once that doubt of my existance rises to the surface within you that's when I step out to make you realize your dreams were there to warn you (of me) not just some playful game of the mind like you always hoped.
