My World
The strange world of mine, compels, me to look up, To observe all the worthy, man-made stuff; The table-top, appears so clean, from my high seat, When grounded, a friendly spider in a cobweb, greets. How I wish, to dress like daddy, in trouser length, full, I wonder why, they send me on half’s, to prep school; To reach the piano keys, I stretch, to stand on my toes, Invisible tag of fingers; for elders, it is a discordant note. I run, across the backyard, in circles for a while, It appears to me, I ran a mile with a smile; Micky is a friend, who cares to do all the naughty stuff, Yet I dare emulate him, for fear of my mother’s rebuff. The world around me, is a canvas, where the walls beg to draw, Brother can never comprehend, warns ‘that was the last straw’, I sketch my house, with windows, placed above, at a height, But the door at the center, is still at level, in my eyesight. A struggle, is to find someone, when I need to go - poop, The commode is a climb for me, while the elders helping; stoop. Know that, I have the amount of energy, to surpass a troop, Happy to be from morning until sleep-time, in an eternal hoop. The bed is so large, I think, that it can fit friends - nine, I struggle in an effort to ascend, to play with the toys of mine, Insects attract my attention, for they seem pets so small, Till the day they bite, I realise they are naughty after all. Everything around me is so giant, to surpass my fear, Yet, I feel brave, certainly, when someone dear is near, I pray to God, wholeheartedly, for my desire to be tall, Or beg all the big people, to create me a world, that is small.
