Holiday Season
It's cold out tonight, and there's no end in sight to the snow and the cold and the way the wind blows leave the fire side warm, lets make for the door I smell chestnuts slow roasting, I hear people there toasting the holiday season brings warm drinks for freezing during meetings so pleasing and old friends so squeezing the night sky is gleaming a snow flake is easing its way down to me, in minds eye I'm seeing years of the past, places we've massed food stacks the tables, we tell ancient fables passing lessons to kids, gathering giddy for gifts family ties breaking, often bonds making there's forecasts of snow from above, lets grab hat and find glove sing songs of sleigh rides, lets say our goodbye head toward pine trees so high, Christmas is nigh It's cold out tonight, and there's no end in sight
