That Dark Sunday
His former intimate partner was she, you know, the kind you’re supposed to trust? She seemed covered in innocence and sweet, but she was obsessed with his past lust. Following him everywhere was a must. With all the social media she was in deep, she could read up on his daily endeavors- Sneaking up to his house to watch him sleep, for she needed to love and hate him forever, this tie she thought they shared would never sever. Tracking his every move after work at night, a huntress on the loose; in her veins the rush- She always knew where he was, had him in sight, when she saw him undress she would blush, for she was the stalker, lost in a silent hush. Angry letters she would send without a name, they would curse him and damn him to hell- For her heartache she would always blame him for sending her to an insane cell. But she loved her secret; she would never tell. She held onto dreams of him dying, though she had no idea how she’d survive- She would break down and fall asleep crying, but deep down didn’t want him alive. So a wicked plan she decided to contrive. She saw him walking his dog last Sunday, it was past dusk, so no one could see- She always had this dream that someday she’d make him horribly suffer like she. She had become the hunter she craved to be. She jumped in front of him with evil eyes, a wicked smile and a sarcastic hello- She knew she had taken him by surprise, grabbed onto his arm and wouldn’t let go, he cobbled a loud laugh, she got more angry though. Filled with disdain she pulled out the knife, now the laughter turned to intense fear- “YOU ARE A MONSTER AND RUINED MY LIFE!” She shouted the more she came near, she knew it was time to take his life here. He cried, “PLEASE DON’T, MY SON COULDN’T EXIST!” Deep inside that’s all he could think of- She pushed him as he started to resist, but all she could think about was her lost love. He screamed, no one heard, so the knife she shoved. She was the one to free herself with victory, he couldn’t break her heart, she started to boast- She never got caught and held onto her story of when she took away what she treasured most. From then on she was haunted by his ghost. Bloodstained clothes everywhere on the ground, the dog barked with anger then ran away- There was nothing he could do, no one around, she was relieved but speechless, nothing to say. She stared at his lifeless body on that dark Sunday. Stalker Contest Silent One November 9, 2017
