That beautiful girl. That lonely girl that wanders around the hallways at lunch. That smart girl that teachers like. He was the one who saw her first. Her real self. He and the girl talked once. He loved her smile. He believed that if she smiled more, everyone would see how beautiful she was. In his mind, fairytales end with him and her living happily ever after. And he wants that: The magic he sees twinkling in her eyes. He had had a chance today to talk to her again. But she wanted to be alone. She had been crying all day and was struck with the urge to calm down. But by the time she took a clear breath, it was time for class again. "Reality check" she told herself. She went off to her locker with a broken heart. He thought his demons were too scary. In her head, his were equal. Her demons were just as bad as his. In his mind, she was perfect. He didn't know that she got home and cried again. She loves him, but the demons keep saying "No". She has such fear of never being loved in return. Such fear of never finding someone who loves her back. His being there, crying in the cold air, is because she died never knowing she was loved.
