Full Moon At Dawn
I woke up this morning at a quarter to three and drive down the road to pray a prayer for my neighbor family distant friends and thee I parked my truck in the commuters parking lot and walked along the sidewalk in the dark I climb on top of the heightened rock in the stream that runs under the bridge and watched the great big moon gleaming in the sky and spilling its light in the silent stream It felt like a dream but it was real bright stars lit up the heavenly sky And the angels were standing by listening to my silent cry The morning was awfully quiet but dawn was busy playing around in her long night gown beating on broken locks gallivanting with the clowns and spilling the naked beans all around The water trickled over the rocks down the shallow stream sending goose pimples all over my back The big truck that usually roam up and down the street was finally silent and everything was off beat I whispered a prayer to the Gods to hold up my hands and take the burden off the land I could feel his presence in that place as tears rolled down my weary face I suddenly got a silent answer saying that he was my deliverer and he would deliver me That was a promising answer and I felt renewed all over I sang this tune along the way and played it the entire day I stared at the full moon bleeding its light on top of the trees For the first time in a decade I felt a deep hunger burning in me The night penetrated its own soul And dawn was knocking on the door driving million of people to the battered shore The crickets were asleep and they were silent as can be The frogs too have disappeared and dawn was drawing near But hope held me by my hand and pulled over a distant land And the moon with its gleaming light directed my steps and lead me to a brighter light. The full moon danced merrily around the sky spilling its light in the middle of the stream And gingerly watched the moving scene.
