Strange Birds
Against the blue backdrop of life, My lover walked away with my heart. As she cooly abandoned the path of her and I, Her raven hair suffered at the mercy of the breeze. She wore a confused grey school bag of white regret, And carried a misunderstood grey briefcase of wasted time. In an angry fist, she squeezed my throbbing heart. Gore and blood dripped: from my hollow chest, To my jerking heart, In sticky synchronized harmony. And as I gazed at her lovely figure departing Colors bled into one another, And the acrid scent of betrayal wafted into my nostrils, slowly suffocating me. With shaky palms, I gripped my chest - Vacant and silent. Warm blood slid down my marble belly, And for the deranged moment of a second, I fancied the wirely taste of blood. I sought to fill the void, but the thump thump of my heart, only quivered in her accursed palms.
