IF THE WORLD WAS ROUND Yesterday, it came raining and shinning As water dropped off the face of a sun: the sun I first met in my brother's eyes When mama left with blessings unpoken, the kind of sun that rose, and never set- and hid its dark spots under its beams Suddenly, a beast rose above the skies And we all crawled onto our tongues- In a silence as cold and hard as snow Where we sat and watched the sun melt. I ran like a venom through my own body And found an end; a sharp, narrow edge But if the world was round, and you ran Thousands and millions of miles away From the bed mama soaked her blood Questing for some beauties of the stars That turned colourful butterflies overnight Someday, you should settle with your fate If the world was round, and you believed That what went around would surely come Someday, you would find what was yours And build castles on rocks, in your name, And in the brilliant legacies of your father, For the journey would be an endless tour But the world was square, with corners And edges, and vertexes- sharp as blades. A world of lost opportunity, forever gone. A world where hopes are for the pussies. And zillion unfulfilled dreams, as cobwebs On walls of scary and choking memories
