Different Perspectives on the Same Subject “Nothing” by Brian Johnston and Abekah Emmanuel I saw light flicker in her rhymes, But solitude was all she wore, Heard music in her moans at times, But life for her was only chore. "Nothing!" she softly said, "I’ve nothing!" Approached her gently like a friend Said "I can hear you though it's dark!" "There's no one cares I ever mend! There's not a flood, you're not an ark!" "Nothing!" she said again, "I’ve nothing!" "I still am here," I said quite loud, "Oh great! I'm sure your mother's proud!" Voice full of pain! I breathed a sigh, And left her there, alone to cry! "Nothing!" more distant now, "I've nothing!” “Getting Nothing” by Brian Johnston Getting nothing is a choice, You were born with skills and voice, Latent talents hiding too, Left untapped, belong to you. Some who stand by heaven's gate Pissed at God (still) hesitate, All they need: a few steps more! Movement always is a chore. God that died to wipe out sin, They won't touch His moccasin, Won't try on their Father's shoes, Married to home-"groan" issues. Choosing nothing has a price Can't complain about advice! Stand in line to fall on sword Nothing’s highest known reward! June 24, 2017
