Socks'N'Jocks
SOCKS 'N' JOCKS Fathers can be a neglected lot When it comes to Father's Day, Mothers are treated differently In a more delightful way. Fathers are often forgotten, Or lucky to get socks 'n' jocks. Mothers get bunches of flowers And more than one chocolate box. Fathers don't get breakfast in bed Like mothers on their special day, The restaurants are not booked out As they are that Sunday in May. This Father's Day when it arrives The eighteenth day of June We'll buy a special gift for him Then he'll be over the moon. The family is in a quandary We don't know what to give dad, Trying to think of something To make him smile and be glad. It's Father's Day, we are excited We're sure he will find it a thrill, Now he can do jobs he's put off, Our gift is a new cordless drill. The look on his face said it all When he saw what was in the box. We knew just what he was thinking, He wished it had been socks 'n' jocks. Copyright © Vivien Wade. Sept.1st 2016
