'gift Horses' - Note 1
Your car needs an oil change? Don't worry I've got it! Your P.C.'s just door stop? Well, I'll at least try! Last romance killed night dreams? Come, laugh at my failures! Need empathy booster? I'm master of sigh! No light in your tunnel? Here's war surplus laser! Prime victim of bullies? My thug is for hire! Your future seems dicey? I'm willing to listen! You'd love beer and pizza? I've steak on the fire! I guess what I'm saying, is "I've got it covered!" Your rent check is missing? A check's in the mail! The bank isn't open! Just give me the tab then! You've hit a fire hydrant? I'm there with the bail! May God never witness day my door's not open, Or day that I don't seem to answer my phone, The race will be starting! Have you made your wager? I need several "C" notes (2) to cover my own!' Brian Johnston May 3, 2017 Poet's Notes: (1) These are some interesting sayings from my childhood - "Always look a gift horse in the mouth." "Beware of a gift horse." The sayings mean that a horse may look good or have a good price, but you should always look in the horse's mouth because the teeth will tell you the animal's age. (2) A "C-note" is slang for one hundred dollars.
