I Loved You
I see you, lying there, Dead, Like a dog, Bleeding. Your blood and sweat mixing And pouring on the floor. I love you. I opened myself to you. You knew everything about me. I trusted you. But I turned around and you Stabbed me in the back. I loved you. Your eyes were wide with shock, As I came towards you, Then they turned to fear. I loved you. As you fell and scrambled away, I came forward with my arm raised high, My eyes bleak and emotionless, You watched as my arm came down, And you screamed. I loved you. I am empty now, My body is covered with your blood, You took away my heart, I took away your life. I loved you. But I cannot live with a heart. Me, the dog hugging, children loving person that I was, You have destroyed me. I am nothing. What do I have to life for? I loved you. “I can’t fake living with emptiness inside me,” I say out loud. As I sink the knife into myself. It hurts, but finally as my eyes close, I feel. I finally feel something. I loved you. And a teardrop falls to my cheek, Just as I fall atop you. I really did love you.
