The Old Man, In Sight of White Foaming Sea
The Old Man, In Sight Of White Foaming Sea Of its beauty the old man was quite fond breadth and depth of that massive ancient pond Great sea rolling with its foaming white turf behemoths on which daring young men surf Old man sitting on favorite low hill gazed down at sandy beach feeling that thrill To be young with ice waters in his veins rather than so lost in his daily pains Brief moment, his heart saw young love again with carefree life, no worries about sin O' what gambles his heart would again take but never her true love, would he forsake As red-sun set, one final look taken at first love, for his wife, now forsaken Robert J. Lindley, 3-25-2017 Note: I started this sonnet last month, finally stopped being lazy and finished it today.. Rare for me to leave sonnets unfinished and I can not remember why I left this one about half complete.. Now that it is finished, I can only hope it may bring something positive/inspirational to its readers..
