The Dog Person
A happening, apparently soaked in the gist of reality Still able to be the underlying cause Behind the strictly personal tear drops On her mobile screen, which will be wiped faster than She can forget And the creator of the universe was not allowed To rub his hand against the little furry paws And invite him to the other side, but the laws Of time, didn’t care for her demanding beauty An ailment deeply rooted Somewhere in the body of her pet, that urged bundles Of candles to be burnt, and that of money for the Vets until Last night, her old dog finally departed for a celestial kennel Maybe joyfully Leaving her in a rather earthly field of emptiness Missing the warm woolly texture Sleeping pills working as her nocturnal elixir She fakes a smile as an easy excuse for her lack of hunger Rain, sweet rain comes with her friendly thunders She is cold She is alone But she has a treasure though The warmth of the dog’s skin still lingers around her arm From the elbow to the fingers, comfortably warm Comfortably warm And she goes to bed thinking it would be gone Before the morn
