She with the shapely body of a cobra, and a hooded head And a tongue that spits venomous words that ought not be heard She poisons the minds of those so easily inclined to follow shadows hidden from the sunshine Darkness is her domain, hearts tremble when ye speak her name Her feared legend is renown She talks to familiar spirits, she communicates with the dead Or so the fearful allege Why hath ye let her entice ye, why hath ye slept in her bed? Know ye not: That she is the daughter of the devil; she forecast the future from palms read, she summons up the spirits of the dead Or so the fearful allege O, who hath bewitched thee, was it that sultry siren with the ever so charming voice? She with the shapely body of a cobra, and a hooded head Medusa hair is the hood she wear Dare to look her way, and receive a stony gaze Her devilish practices make ye all afraid She speaks with a forked tongue, enchanting words of wanton desire The foolish and simple ones know not that they've entered the lair of a viper O, why hath ye come to enquire of her? Know ye not: She talks to familiar spirits; that she communes with the dead, and can put an evil mark in your head The first part, the fearful allege ... the latter part is true, I'm afraid
