A Chicano In Bakersfield
"A CHICANO IN BAKERSFIELD" I've walked into the courthouse more than I want. the whore turned my world upside down. I've been sick more in a month than I have been in the past ten years. it's a funny thing though, the tires on my bike haven't gone flat in a month. the cigarette between my fingers drops pieces of hot ash on my skin and I just stare. I can feel it burn but it isn't pain. there's a silence now that is the loudest. I've gotten back a different version of what I've lost. but there the Pacific sits, there the typewriter sits and life has continued. although they'd never admit it, the two females inside this city can't stand me. the whore with the sun stained vest laughs, foolishly thinking she's won. the woman with the duck on her dresser, is aware of the walls inside her home. a whore hates me, I could give two rat's asses. it's nothing new. a woman sees me inside the walls that stop the rain. the gods have given me a woman who loathes me. alas, it has finally come. a winning hand at best. I'm under my sky and some would say that isn't a win. but you can win and still be criticized. go ask Trump. By: Chicano Eddie 2-24-2017
