Stepping Through Time
Stepping Through Time With one, gentle nudge from a warm southern breeze, I fall into the arms of Galileo. His charming smile asks, "may I have this dance, please?" then ten thousand stars set our dance floor aglow. Bathed bronze in youth's flame, he stands tall and assured. Strong hands pull me close, yet he speaks not a word. From his ageless sky, I pluck dreams as we glide and soak up the genius his dark eyes confide. Ruddy are his cheeks, on his breath, a fine wine as every star sinks to dress us in light. We dance the lavolta, our visions align and roses in bloom perfume the Florence night. Inspired by his thoughts and creations to come, Uninhibited, to the dance I succumb. I twirl and I leap in this renaissance scene dipping into the arms of heavens serene. Written 2/6/17
