Lonely But Right
Has everyone really, always done something wrong? Is there only one way to live? Will you really just crumble from the insides From the unemotional help that you give? Is there only a few moments throughout the whole year When the sky isn’t falling on you? You’ll never decide to be near all the love That you naturally gravitate to. I’m sorry for the core of your soul which makes you unhappy and old I’m sorry that there is never a twinkling of happiness Uncontrollable laughingness A sigh and just then you kiss A little warmth to melt all this cold. I wish you the smile I’ve seen once or twice The moments when you acquiesced to be nice Just to be not quite so passionless A little less tourniquet A little less “I insist” A little more heart that‘s concise. There’s a world of devotion out there Where true friendships will safeguard your heart You’ll never tap into it, learn how to learn from it If you tell yourself never to start. You may think that I am naïve That I gain a lot less then I give But I’m sleeping quite well at night My heart and my brain don’t fight I’ve chosen to stand up and live.
