Daddy's Little Words
#7 “Dad, why weren’t we rich?” “Dad, why couldn’t we travel somewhere?” “Dad, why was it had to be cheap when I wanted to buy something?” “Dad, did you even have any stock?” “Dad, my friend’s parent had bought a new apartment” Daddy this, Daddy that… Yet I saw his wrinkles, covered smoothly in his cheeks Dazzled around his eyes, dancing in the middle of his tears He might spoke, but not a word to answered He might cry, but not a single drop to fell Inhaled and exhaled Time’s stop A disguised mass had just slapped me right through my face By the time, Daddy unlocked his thoughtfully wise words And spoke gently And let the atmosphere soothed by itself “We weren’t rich, we had nothing to spare And all, as a matter of fact We were nothing Your ancestors, they did something great for our country But none of theirs would be yours You were no heir We didn’t expect much,” Words of abused Crossed around the ears Dashed through that almond-widened eyes In a lack of anything And a desperate whisper He slowly finished his words, “So, if one day, at a time You would be able to conquer You would be at the highest And a hand that reached the star Confronted with an abundance sadness And formed it with happiness You would be able to go wherever you wanted And bought whatever you asked … It would be all of your own struggle That you did it all by yourself Those would be the impact of your effort And that you would be satisfied And that we would be proud For those that you’ve had work on for You deserved that.”
