Wrong Night
Lifeless eyes surround the hollow feelings of my heart, Livid features shine in the eyes of their captor, Seem less catastrophe in the air around me, Laying here in the dirt isn’t so bad, As long as you’re here with me I’m ok, Please don’t ever betray me, Please never try to pry me away, Tired fingers close around my wrists, Hurting every fraction of my skin, I’m not writing from experience, But from the examples I have been given, A noise rings out in the distance, An alarm of truth shines, through, My captor in this deep dark place is now running away, Hiding behind a tall dark tree I await his return, For now I am stained and dirty and nothing can ever be the same, Tears of sorrow and tears of joy streaming down my lifeless face, I run as fast as my two legs will carry me, I see my porch light blazing like a beacon in the darkest of darks, My feet hit the porch I fumble around trying to find the hidden key, Its icy feeling touches my far down into my soul, Try as I might to get the key in it will not go, I see someone coming up the street in a fast pace, He is almost recognizable as he approaches, No it is my captor he is almost a yard away, The key goes into the hole just as he hits the steps, Inches away from me I slam the door in his face, Locking all of the locks I run up stairs, My parent’s room light is on but I straight past it to the phone and I report, The night I was done wrong!
