Recipe For Disaster
Donna left him alone and fled in her yellow dress, Richard sitting all by himself and feeling quite upset, the dusk coming quickly as the sun started to set, he pondered his and Donna's relationship on the picnic bench, Wondering in his mind why she abruptly left, he sat there like the thinker with his fist on his cleft, couldn't understand why or what he did wrong, he looked at the green cake and even thought of a song, He tried so hard to please her for goodness sake, took him forever to make his special green cake, could it be because she didn't like the color green, at times he thought she was such a drama queen, Could it be because last time he baked a cake she got sick, never saw someone throw up so much come to think of it, Richard kept insisting she have a piece of it, He said he'd never give up being very persistent, She had resisted him again today and gave him the look, Richard didn't give up and chased her all the way to the brook, Running after her with the piece of green cake, She yelled out "I'm leaving you, you crazy flake!" All of a sudden there was a light spring rain, he was getting out of there he was upset, not insane, leaving the cake with the green frosting melting in the dark, he quickly got in his car and left "MacArthur Park." On his drive home he let out a weary sigh, watching the windshield wipers he looked at the rainy sky, thinking of his Donna leaving forever made him want to cry, then with a grin he thought, "I know, I'll make her a pie!" 11-3-16
