Caught In a Lightning Storm
I see a flash in the sky bright as day and my skin tingles as i hear a crack in the midnight air knowing the white light of day will come around the storm that comes from the pitch black night. As i watch the white streaks so perfectly crooked and bent I can't help but to feel dazed and entranced. I continue to stare and watch the darkened center shrink and dilate to show off the spectacular lightning that surrounds it and just as i feel my heart begin to slow I remember to breathe; another crack sounds and my heart jumps from my chest to stare at the beautiful show nature has left for me, transfixed we sit. Another crack much fainter than before but still just as soothing yet heart racing. A rolling of thunder that makes me smile widely ear to ear until my face aches from fighting the smile. Then in an instant she blinks and the beautiful white sunshine, the hypnotic lightning storm, and the dark core of the storm disappeared for an instant and she looks at me and asks "Are you ok? You look like you fell into a trance". For a moment im speechless then i mumble a quick "im alright, sorry about that" to the woman as i hear another 'cracking' as she says she has to go as she turns away rain starts to fall from a storm I can't see but i can feel the drops on my cheeks...she left and I didn't tell her how beautiful she is to me; lost in her eyes speechless and dumbfounded i want to chase after her and walk with her. Every fiber of me praying to hear her rolling laugh on my ears see her bright flashing eyes as i get lost in them to see the shell so beautiful which holds a soul ever more awe inspiring. It pains me to watch her go...
