Missing San Francisco
Our last option pointed us Northeast of you. It was like exiting a refrigerator, and entering a microwave. We learned to adjust, but we will always miss you. We did not want to ever leave because you were to us a lovely place. Our youngest child was born in your university hospital. Living a few blocks from the Pacific, we enjoyed your clean air. We miss the hills, the sunsets, the high and low tides of ocean waves. And O how we miss the ‘put me to sleep’ sounds rushing to the shores. The beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge; O what a sight! The Golden Gate Park; a beautiful place to fly kites. Or at other times, to just feed the birds along the lake. Heavy winds at ocean beach; I miss your blows against my cheek. The ups and downs of trolley cars, not quite halfway to the stars. Large and loaded heavy ships, filled with cargo from the far east. Oh for goodness sake, we miss the 'wake me up’ calls by the fog horns and the gentle earthquakes. Yes, we checked out, but a part of us never did leave. We visit you once in a while, but it’s not the same. We will never become adjusted to the traffic; it's so difficult, trying to get to you. 10302016 PS Contest, Landscape and Towns, Bic Gi-Sa
