Those Chairs
Your seat next to mine I still feel your hand in mine Not holding on enough distance to make contact and yearning to move closer but So much time, circumstance between Like magnets repelling I refuse to consider that we could have Changed that.. I remember the first time I saw you Really I do Literally has lost its meaning So much has Like the sour candies we bought to Support band Or football... Maybe some club I still have the wrappers They are meaningless right? No amount of trivial will equal anything substantial It's just that I still feel... The loaded moments that linger before a kiss We trializied I still do That infinitesimally small amount of fate that Would forever keep up positioned to repel But I still feel the chairs So many chairs A balcony full of strangers but the snow Was just for us I can see the branches, flakey ice piling high hands just touching us sitting in those chairs with a glow around us Protecting us... Me from knowing All that wouldn't come Trivial But I still feel your hand Not holding on but touching You promised it meant as much to you as it did to me Maybe only when we draw close do we repel Maybe nothing
