I put the cake in the refrigerator I heard it calling my name I tried to ignore it I really did try BUT each time I opened the refrigerator door it said eat me so I did . . . one little piece to start oh gosh that sure was GOOD and delicious I walked away proud that I had only one small piece but the memory remembers things that are good and the cake kept c a l l i n g one more piece what is the harm really I threw the last stale piece in the garbage today darn it and darn my sister for getting sick and forcing me to eat all the chocolate cake with the chocolate icing and fancy sweet words- but oh the chocolate demon in me says thank you so much now I best go exercise because I am feeling quite F A T . . . . and full of regretting cake . . . oh maybe a float in the pool instead _____________________________ August 3, 2016 Poetry/Free Verse/Regretting Cake Copyright Protected, ID 16-813-792-0 All Rights Reserved.
