Her Darkened Soul
For her soul longed for the dark solitude Deep inside the trenches of her Blackened Heart Yet she too once yearned for the Light Darkness has since set upon her broken frame The same way as night would fall on a moonless night The cracks within her walls were visible for all of mankind to see As she too was once whole Her walls, built higher than the coldest winds Seeps through the crevices of her shattered existence Hope forlorn there is but none for her But in her minds eye she is at a pleasant peace Knowing that in a time far gone She too possessed inner beauty As the night darkens over her broken dreams She lays her head down wearily For as surely as morning will come to the living So will the light shine upon the grave she so peacefully calls her eternal resting place
