You Selfishly Stole
As a brisk breeze followed us to the sea we felt rejuvenated, young, and free. And stars lit the heavens in sheer delight smiling on two lovers who owned the night. Together we sent prayers to God above asking Him to bless the fruit of our love. And without trickery or deception we both made love dreaming of conception. When our two souls melded, two became three consisting of you, the baby, and me. But when you felt our child stir in your womb, you shut me out, claiming you need your room. This cruel betrayal was planned ahead, for what once was ours became yours instead. And my broken heart was ground into dust when you insisted love was merely lust. I'll haunt the fringes of your existence hated for my undying persistence. And yet, I will not leave him to your whim for I'm his father; you cannot hide him. I'm drowning in an ocean of despair, you took a part of me and didn't care. And molding the life you selfishly stole, you deny my right to touch his soul. (Rhyme) 6/8/2016
