All That We Are
You say how you feel with your eyes, but your heart keeps running away. You say how you feel with your actions, things your mouth could never say. What are you afraid of? Afraid to admit what I've known all along? What are you afraid of? Afraid to admit that what you feel is oh so strong? I say what I feel with my words, words only paled by the screams of my heart. I say what I feel through tears; my world without you will fall apart. What am I afraid of? Afraid you will see the real me and turn aside. What am I afraid of? Afraid you will see the real me and won't want to take the time. Can we say "I Love You" and walk away, not knowing if it will matter? Will we say "I Love You" and walk away, and in the distance hear our hearts shatter? Silently we move about each other's space, caring deeply from afar. Symbolically wiping tear from each other's faces - its all we can be; it's all that we are. 5/20/16
