Can'T Turn the Page
Trapped in the same month for what seems like half a century The page never turns, it goes on and on words never seem to run dry, dripping off the page leaving one inquiry for another day Wide eyed and unfocused, drifting through precious time sorting through confusion, allusions, delusions why must it be this again... Wanting and wishing to be hand in hand with one person from this ivory-thorned memory burned within a stone of a heart Equaling the pain, finding a tree hoping a rooftop to stare down at the ants and laugh looking at the sky, closer to heaven to glance away from the smiling faces playing their merry tune while the mind of the gloom can't turn the page nor burn it away as it's etched on paper-like skin Ghosts attack the hands of time in melody threatening to seize the face like claws and sink into the ground like demons but restraints bury the burden weights into arms and feet we'll just call it weighted bricks when like a statue carved of copper just sits arms around sad knees Where are the ashes, they never lie crippling the confidence, losing the will to hide but feeling the truth fall away a trickle drifting through the rain finds its place falling down...
