I Too
I too have cried a river full of hurt filled tears. I too have felt the weight of the world and acquired a few fears. I too have doubted my full potential. I too have lovingly lost a beautiful soul. I too saw an image in the mirror I didn’t recognize. I too have sat for hours and listened to the lies. I too shattered my own heart at the weakness of another. I too have fell short in the meaning of forever. I too have gathered thoughts that I knew were untrue. I too masked my true feelings when I didn’t know what else to do. I too wandered lonely dark roads. I too have scars of stories untold. I too wanted to be loved and accepted. I too found myself in a world that was corrupted. I too slowly picked at a hurt after it scabbed. I too ran back to the pain although it made me sad. I too was lost and not sure which way to go. I too wanted the smile I wore to have an honest glow. I too ran my fingers thru my hair and felt sick to the core. I too wanted to believe the love that was really there. I too would dismiss the help people would offer. I too hid the damage in my minds own shelter. I too crumbled. I too dissolved. I too was you a story untold. I too had enough. I too had to find strength. I too had a dream that on it I would bank. I too shed tears of relief. I too saw beauty in disbelief. I too struggled to pick myself up. I too wanted to give up. I too saw the sun rise. I too felt my heavy eyes. I too was once a 'you'.
