The Gift
Did your life come nicely gift wrapped in a carefully designed nest? Or has your life inherited, via special deliveries, problems that you detest? It may be true that you have gallantly fought against all odds to do your best. Now you feel underhanded and undermanned; highly stressed and under duress. One Biblical character was tried so severely that he cursed the day of his birth. Few of us ever rise so high as he, and fall so low. Fewer still are those who, after falling severely, rise to the top again. Are you aware that life does not know you from any other mortal? You are feeling that your life is entangled in a web of troubled seas. But is it not also true that, for one and all, the sun rises and sets; Moreover, the path of the Sea’s waves is mandated. The Ocean tides, high or low, are not rushing randomly; but their Maker orders their place of halting; and most often, they come like orchestrated music, flowing slowly to the shores. Most meteorites are burned in the atmosphere and tsunamis are rare. Still, we battle many adversities, find the grace to be grateful, and rebuild after ferocious disasters. The forces of nature push and pull; and the winds of life blow with abandon. Neither life nor forces will roll over and fold. Likewise, let us also fight on until the bell tolls. Whether we grow weak and old, through the heat and the cold; whether through sickness and health, let us remain focused and bold. Whether rich or poor, the gift of life is better than gold. 03262026 cj PS
