He Died Today
He died today He died today, for both you and me keeping intact his righteous human dignity Died like a criminal he was hated and despised With divine love for you, do you even realize? He died today, not because he did something wrong but to save you and me, now to him we belong When someone dies for you, how do you feel? Do you even understand it, to you is it real? He died today, because he chose to do God's will Without his sacrifice, we'd all be slaves to sin still Because of his altruistic, self-sacrificing love We can be forgiven, by our heavenly Father above He died today, after sunset, it was the Passover of Nisan 14 after sundown tonight, we remember the events in between He had his last supper in company with his faithful friends then his enemy betrayed him, his life would soon end He died today, bruised and battered but he was innocent he was a perfect man, a ransom for us, that was heaven sent We cannot forget the great love that to us was shown We now live in eternal gratitude, our very life we disown.
