Lost In the Grand Canyon
I left home in early July, headed to arid Arizona to explore the Gran Canyon in all its splendor; the ride went smoothly, stopping at a rest area to refresh, eating breakfast and hurrying back... the bold spirit of explorer opened a closed door, and thinking, " All will go well. " I relied on luck. I slept under a tall cactus, scorpions bit me hard, I stopped the blood by putting bandages on my leg; a large snake crawled in daylight to eat my food, then he went back where he had laid his last egg. Water was running out, I drank every single drop; I fell asleep around six o' clock and waking up darkness had fallen...I started spinning as if I had vertigo, then I pulled out my road map. I was dehydrated, I called for help, but the closest police station was in Tusayan some fifteen miles away, I whispered to myself, " I may die in this dark desert. " The cellular rang, " Where's your location, buddy? " " I am somewhere in the Gran Canyon." I answered. " Help is coming, keep your flashlight on. " He said.
