Course of Winter
The bright flame flickers raging red While bitter cold is frosting glass. In stirring silence of the dead The falcons sleep in straw bound casts. Morning dew freeze into glass orbs, And tuffs of cloud blanket the sky. Great arms of oak boast silk white robes While golden rays of sun deny. Deny the comfort of its arms So ice-capped hilltops glimmer still. Winter cannot resist its charms So wild western winds be tranquil. With no coral the horses race Through wooded valleys of the hawk. Thus beating ground without a trace Join deer and fowl atop the rock. One giant leap is all it takes To cover distance far and wide. Civil culture freedom forsakes But still dolphins unite the tide. While flying air and water too The forest bends to guard its caves Defending never found so true A love that earth itself still craves. The grasses sway to redirect The voices of the lands still heard And echo thrice by intellect A wisdom carried by the bird. Grand silver wings the rivers grasp For just one sweet and selfish kiss. And so it leaves, fare in its clasp, The waters flow in tasteful bliss. As evening comes the eagles wake To soar the midnight hour with ease. We walk the night and peace we take But never know us grace like these.
