Through the window he peered And every car that passed by his house he’d jump from the couch And open the door, ready to embrace his lady love Many cars passed by and many times the door was opened Then he started walking from sunrise to sunset the city In hopes that he would see her At the market perhaps, driving by, or on foot just taking a stroll Underneath his eyes started getting dark He lost his appetite and commenced to lose weight He thought to himself, if only he could see her everything would be okay Inside his house dust began to cover his shelves Outside his house mail and circulars covered his porch He needed help and he needed it ASAP One night after driving around all day in his city and nearby cities too He drove home, sat on his couch and fell asleep In his dream someone knocked on the his door, than rang the doorbell He ran to the door, brushed off his pants and shirt and ran his fingers through his hair In hopes that it was his lady love It was the mail carrier He was holding a certified letter He signed it and closed the door Sat down hurriedly and just as he was about tear it open Someone else was at the door, this time he went to the door Without expectation and it was It was………
