Open Sesame
Aladdin and his magic lamp,Ali Baba and his thieves. Sinbad and his sailors ship , a thousand tales like these. I wish I had a djinni, who could open up these doors, that men with dead eyes sceamed and planned to order borders closed. Because these people never chose to leave, the warm hearths of their homes, to trudge a thousand miles and more, through rain and wind and snows. Their elders and their children, carried on their backs, the memories of their brothers lives ,in tears shed down those endless tracks. These honorable ,proud people, their stories will live on, but the land that they were born in ,ancient Persia it is gone. And the drones keep dropping bombs on them ,at a hundred grand a pop, and so these people have to leave,is this murder ever gonna stop? And then to be treate so badly, when forced out of their homes. Young girls ,and boys, our children, frightened, hungry and alone. The faith that it can give you,to meet a kind and caring face, can feed magic to the heart again, like feeling safe and out the rain. As where there's creatures cold and lifeless ,there's also humans full of life, and a gift of grub and coffee can give meaning back to life. And the monsters think their dosh will save them, when the worlds been blown apart, the seas and rivers poisoned, the mountains hearts ripped out! But as a red man wisely said "you cannot eat money" I wouldn't give those fools a week if our bees stopped making honey. For every living creature should be welcome to a space, that's safe and warm and comfortable ,and no man should judge that not the case. So those of us that can, should stand up and be heard, when there's people sewing up their lips ,to say nothing is absurd. For all the magic in the world would sadly be just wasted, if men refused to help the weak, picked up guns and were racist. And if we could call a djinni, he'd spread out both his hands, he'd wipe the zombies from our world and give the homeless back their lands. And happy ever after could still end a thousand tales, and magic can live on in us, and in Arabias forever, drifting sands.
