Twelve Years Ago
I picked up the phone, said hello its me. He said, "please girl just let us be." They turned away because I left them afraid. In my self pitty I quietly laid. With darkened eyes, I was ready to die. I picked up the phone, Then began to cry. Why me lord, can you just tell me why. Soon a voice answered with care. "Hello," " Who is this? Who is there? " It's me and I am on drugs, I've been hanging around addicts and thugs. I was High, when I called that day. Begging for help, so I'de see another time to pray. Sis is mom there? Will she talk to me? Or is she just going to tell me that I am free? I was scared, alone and ready to die. As she gently said, " please don't cry! " I wished that night I made it there. But, two angels came, the odds were not fair. that night I'de made a choice to leave. Some one didn't want my family to grieve. I drove down the mountain and reached the end. That night I realized God was truly my friend. (A message to everyone that is out there thinking that there is no one out there for them to run to when they have hit rock bottom. I feel your pain and relate to the heart break you feel but at one time in your life to what ever power you believe in, You and only you can ask for the help and guidance to be strong! When all has failed you, remember to never fail yourself. I am free, I am not dead, I am living and finding there is so much I have yet to learn.)
