This Lady
Her hands were always busy Either planting gardens Praying over loved ones Or cooking hardy recipes that we all want to know Taking care of others is what my grandmother she's best at Even if she doesn't know She doesn't like a big fuss made about her The humbles of all hearts Today I saw a different side of one of the strongest souls I know She reached out one of those hands but this time it was for guidance and comfort as she makes her way home This humble heart I speak of is surely made of gold Because God is gaining all the riches of Heaven and earth As her time with us draws near It breaks our hearts she's leaving, we don't want her to go But there's others up in Heaven who have been waiting patiently As she finished chores down here So as we say goodbye to this lady who helped shape each and every one of us We must always keep in mind Goodbye is not forever We will all unite at Heavens gates Each in our own time. Written in tribute to my grandmother Sylvia Joyce Durst.
