Were You One of Those
Were You One of Those Were you one of those who was over there? Had done bad things way beyond compare; Soldiers were being wounded and also killed And bills and goals had been left unfulfilled. Wherever you went or would wonder along People had been there in hordes and a throng Soldiers sang songs that themselves did bewilder Of death and destruction and who was the builder. While blood was flowing bullets flew and flew Were many terrible things that we went through In the name of our beloved, great country's sake From dawn's early light until next new day's break. Times were both so trying and had been bleak After we fought on and on week after week To us, all of this this was extremely terrifying Soldiers having fought hard and were dying. To many, this was last breath they would take Backs were bent and heard bones as they break Death came to Screaming Eagles by the score Loved ones we never again shall see anymore. War was won over and done and had ended Wish decaying, dreary misery could be rescinded; Soldiers so silent over and over did die and die Parents stayed home while they would cry and cry.
