My Dentist
My Dentist: DR. CERRUD Speeding down the halls, the fastest feet around. Never a dull moment, composed, focused, quick eyes trained for excellence, and hands that need not be told. Perfection both in his care and his work. Presumptuous, but it appears he is at home when he is at work, is he at work when he is at home? In comes the doctor. Sees not your old clothes, your ugliness, nor the pigment of your skin. Shakes your hands, and smiles comforting words. Washes his hands, then wipes his counter spotless. Checks his instruments, and very methodically prepares, probably more prepared than Moses in his quest to meet God? Massages your gums. Ever had that done before? Lifts the scary needle. Timidly, you await the sting of the tranquilizing pain. But instead, a prick, so tiny you keep waiting for the Big One! Before you know, he starts drilling away. Falling asleep, without fear, in Dr. Cerrud's chair. © October 2015 by A. Juman - The "SAID" Poet Type In (A. Juman) For A relaxing and astonishing moment with all my POEMS
