Holding Hands
Holding Hands The things that we say to the hands we hold, so gentle and soft or brazened and bold, without saying words we speak to the heart, words that need voices when hands are apart. In friendship and love, in joy or in pain enduring of time and seasons of change. Without using words what else could you do to speak from the heart "I'm right here with you" For courage and strength, compassion and hope, sharing a burden and helping us cope, Or tethers a bond of passionate fire, steadily fueling a growing desire. Some are against as public display, keeping their distance for dignity's sake. Their understanding depends on the words, missing the message the heart may have heard. Some say our lives are much better shared. For pain of the loss it's cautiously dared. A touch of the hand lead hearts to be won. When taking thy hand the two become one. - Jeannie Minor
