My Friends Are So Precious
"Exams are nearly over and You know what would be a great Way to celebrate? Going to Disneyland!" "Yeah, what a cool idea! I'll ask my mum and see what she says, And I'll give you the money In a few days." I can't believe it's coming together; None of my friends have ever Been able to cope with actual plans, And now all the details are in my hands... "I'll need your money tomorrow, mates, Otherwise they'll sell out all the July dates." "Oh, didn't I tell you? I don't get paid for another Month, and I can't borrow it From my mother." "Me too, do you mind Paying for me? I'll pay you back Eventually..." "I found out I'm on holiday That week, I forgot To ask until last night, So it looks like I'm not-" "Coming? Not me, I'd love to, it's not fair, I start my summer job that day and Can't ask for time off my first week there." Will it always be like this? Will I be surrounded by Dysfunctional people For all of my life? Am I such an unlikeable person that Nobody I know, After I've organised a holiday Can trouble themselves to go? I wish, oh how I wish For a best friend at last, Who'll like me and not let me down, Is that too much to ask?
