True Blue
The people got together and formed a little click; But everyone is jockeying; to be the favorite pick Everyone’s agreeable; for they think so much alike; But every bodies suffering and some may seem contrite. The ladies have their issues; which makes them who they are; The men all have their problems too; but since have come so far. Bobby has no money; for things He wants to buy; Carrie Lee is worried; and tears are in her eye. When war is made the topic; at first they all agree; That killing is atrocious; as far as they can see. Then a young man from the service; will wave the stars and stripes; And everybody clamors; to support the need to fight. Pointing at the government; pointing at the times; All will have opinions; but the truth seems hard to find. Popular opinions; that’s the thing that rules; And everywhere He looks; the misfit has the blues.
