Whispers of My Heart
These beautiful lies so much pain in my eyes-I put my hands together and look to the skies Everything I been through made me who I am but who I see and who you see well we may just disagree When I look in that mirror the woman that I see is a survivor, a strong warrior princess with a captivating mind that captured your interest-I'm not perfect but I know that I am worth it-No longer settling for less only striving for the best-maybe the past was just a test-Yes, I'm so blessed, because I am still standing and able to tell my story-To God be the glory-see with out my faith I could have never made it this far-I ignored his warnings time and time again until he pulled the wool from my eyes and I had no choice but to face the truth-I have to make better decisions no longer can I blame my youth-I am praying for clarity, it all seems unreal what I have found is a rarity-I gave God the pieces and he is putting them together I just need to follow a righteous path and brave this stormy weather-Never have I put my happiness first I mean not really since I been on this earth-always thinking about the next person even if it upsets me yeah that's worse-hopefully I can change that before I begin this next verse-where is that mac makeup so I can cover up the hurt...I mean act like it does not exist and just smile through the rain-not living in the past but really looking at the present-see life is a gift so we refer to it as a present-I still smile as the tears roll down my cheek-staying strong I am not going to lose sleep-I just pray for strength and ask my heavenly father to guard my heart and guide my feet
