My Yesterdays
My Yesterday I have so many yesterdays And they creep into my mind Sleep won’t come tonight for me I keep seeing you all the time I sink farther into my pillow Trying not to see those epic scenes The tragic looks upon your face And all the pain my actions bring How is it I didn’t seem to care I swear it just can’t be true I would give anything to have you back Just to say, “I do, I do, I do love you!” But those days are gone and so are you The silence now loud and clear The pictures silently watching now Your voice no more will I hear The regrets I have are many Just like my yesterdays And I can never have you back I pay the price in so many ways Yes I regret my yesterdays And the pain I inflicted upon you My mind my own prison cell Hearing your words ring so true And what were those words you spoke? That now ring so true in my mind? You said you will become my yesterday And leave me and all this hurt behind Connie Moore September 29, 2015
