Under the Glass Moon Eyes
Upon the porch overlooks the stellar way, Nothing but darkness, on the great stellar way Over the dead sky, pendent hang cold bright Moon To warn whoever to walk and lay down soon A lone stranger comes to us, when gloomy day Then stops by the old porch, in tattered array Enquires softly what hour should befall the shade I answer him, though was quite dazed and confused “Good traveller, to tell you, I wish I knew To say with certainty, reach the House of Fate On this stellar way, we live only by day By night we’re lost in the winter Gods forsake Under the Glass Moon, we seem to loose what’s right To the joy we haven’t and the tears never cried All there is to us, but a moment delight The blood horrid became the pleasure we’ve desired Dear stranger, to be honest, if I could tell Under its pale eyes, we seem at lost ourselves” “Under the Glass Moon Eyes we sure lose something It’s not of ours to lose by the moonlit ground I have noticed sooner darkness’ a becoming From chill night, a warm shelters hard to be found Ere this forlorn cold constrains me to callous weight I must ask whether your kindness ‘d let me stay For weariness’s had my visions worn and blurred This journey of mine shall see no end, I fear The storms should come, perhaps at distance closer If I could burden you till morrow comes near?” He stands there long, in silence, gestures bemused “Good traveller, to tell you, I wish I knew To say with certainty, reach the House of Fate On this stellar way, we live only by day By night we’re lost in the winter Gods forsake…” “Under the Glass Moon,” he mutters, “comes the shade” The drifter then looks into his dread, vacant eyes; Their emptiness accursed shares the endless way “Never again!” linger on those breathless sighs And into the dark night, his twilight steps fade
