A Victim No More
Once was a boy just seventeen He was innocent, he was not mean Now a prisoner of the state Trial by jury will seal his fate Once was a boy just seventeen His mother smart, sister was keen They tricked him, they pushed and shoved For them he killed their father for love Once just a boy just seventeen He was the protector, it would seem Convinced him they were trapped, no way out That father was abusive, without a doubt Once was a boy just seventeen Tried real hard to hide and not be seen Knife in hand, she told him his part Stabbed their father straight in the heart Once was a boy just seventeen Confess or run, he was caught in between Inner battle, but he lost the fight When mother said “Take the whole blame for that night” “For I am sick, your sister too small You my son are the bravest of us all You did your job, but it’s not done Sorry son, but you’re the only one” Now a man much older now Tagged for life, to go on he didn’t know how But in the darkness he found the light Picked himself up with all his might Now a man with a glorious life Two great kids and a spectacular wife The past is no longer his souls’ core A survivor he is, a victim no more
